Kenneth H. Huege

February 8, 1960 – May 13, 2017

Bartlett – Kenneth Huege, 57, peacefully embarked on his next great adventure while lovingly surrounded by his family on May 13, 2017 at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.  Born in Chicago, IL and a longtime resident of Des Plaines, Ken currently resided in Bartlett, IL.

Ken was the loving son of Kenneth R. (Roxanne) Huege, his mother Sandra Huege (nee Erschen), life-long best friend to his younger brother Christopher (Bridget) Huege, an  adoring sibling and birthday mate to sister Tammie (Jeff) Vose, big brother to sister Amy (Rosa) Duarte, and very proud uncle of Saige and Layne Duarte.  Ken also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who provided great love and support throughout his life as he did in return for them.   He is survived by his faithful friend and feline companion, Starboard – who loved him since a tiny kitten and kept him entertained with her constant need to redecorate his house.

Ken was greeted in Heaven by his grandparents and two uncles – one of which probably already had the boat and tackle prepped for a long overdue fishing trip!  Ken leaves behind many near and dear friends who will always remember his generosity, kindness and amazing smile.

Protective and loyal, Ken took the obstacles life handed him in stride and never let the struggles change him or make him bitter.  Eternally positive and incredibly strong, Ken is now in a place where he can lay his burdens aside and be whole once again.

Ken was full of life.  He loved to play park district football and there was nothing “Generic” about how he played!  Other passions of Ken’s included the Chicago Bears on Sundays, those trophy Walleyes in Canada (One Man Lake in Ontario was where he landed his best), and Zazzlow Pitts, a cleric, with whom he became well acquainted as he played D&D since high school with his brother and the rest of his party.

A celebration of Ken’s life is being planned for a later date.  All will be welcome.  For more information contact khhcelebration@gmail.com
