Franklin Joseph Bak,-71, of Waukegan, Il, born February 7,1946, passed away after a long battle with cancer at Tidewell Hospice,Englewood, Fl. with his children and wife around him.Resided in Waukegan, previously from Chicago,Glenview,Island Lake,Winneconne County,Wisc. He was a graduate of Loyola Academy,Oshkosh university,attended Devry Tech.,University of Illinois at Champaign.Worked as Dental Tech,substitute teacher K-12,411 operator,cable splicer retired from Illinios Bell.
Served in US Army in 1st Calvary 1968-1969 Vietnam.
Preceded in death by his mother, Marie(Konopa)Bak, his uncle, Lucian Konopa, his half-brother,Thomas Van Langen, his cousin,Geri Rosenau.
He is survived by his son,Richard, his wife, Patricia, his children,Richard Freitas,Margo Greenfield, Anthony Freitas. He’s loved by his grandchildren and missed by his half sister Barbara Law (Roy), his Van Langen half-brothers Frank (Brenda),Dennis,Paul, Kenneth (Ellen).He was noted to have dry humor; his friends remember how “uncle Frank” was a partner in fun,loyal, joined in Road Rallye, and had a great outlook on life.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his Memorial on Dec.17,2017 at Mylith Park pavillion in Mylith Park,Island Lake, Illinois from 11:00am-dusk.
